Q5) Why are there different formats for secure messages?
Your secure
message is delivered as an attachment in the recipient inbox. The attachment
can be in one of 3 formats:
1. Any Device
Access. The secure
message is packaged as an HTML file embedding the actual secure content. The
recipient downloads the attachment and opens it in a web browser. In IOS mobile
devices this method won’t work without a mobile application installed because
IOS browser will remove all the embedded code to open the content. In order to
overcome this limitation we also publish a copy of the secure message in our
Amazon Cloud for 30 days and embed a link in the email message. IOS users can
simple click on the link to download a copy of the complete attachment in the
web browser
2. Desktop and
non-ios. Same as above but no copy is published into our cloud. The
recipient needs to use a desktop or non-ios to view
message. For IOS devices the recipient must use our mobile app.
3. Lockmagic client. The
secure message is sent as an encrypted binary file attachment. The recipient
must either use a native Lockmagic application or use
our web application to open message.
Q6) How do
I open a secure email message?
·
Click on “Open Message” link or download attachment
into your local computer

·
Message content will be displayed

Q11) How do I encrypt or decrypt my files in google drive (gdrive), Onedrive or Dropbox?
There are
two ways you can connect Lockmagic to your cloud
drive. You can either use a file picker interface to grant Lockmagic
access to specific files in your cloud drive. In this case, you will open the Lockmagic
Explorer View and select the source cloud drive to add files into your
local view. You can add clear or encrypted files to your explorer view and take
various actions on the selected files. You can encrypt, decrypt, zip multiple
files and encrypt as a single secure zip file, manage access to encrypted
files, view access view of a specific encrypted file and so forth. Place your
mouse on top of the file and the list of actions will appear on the right-hand
side. Select multiple files in the view and a tool bar will appear that allows
you to zip, share and save back to cloud drive as secure files. Here is a
sample view of the Lockmagic Explorer
Alternatively,
you can use the Cloud Drive option and grant Lockmagic
access to your entire cloud drive. This is a simpler and more efficient method
if you plan to use Lockmagic as a security layer on
top of your cloud files to transparently encrypt, share and access files. It is
more user friendly since you don’t have to pick a file and then take an action
on it. You will be able to see your entire drive and navigate through its
folder structure seamlessly and take action on files immediately. Here is a
sample view of a google drive with Lockmagic web app.
Q12) How do I save contacts to Lockmagic?
You can save
a list of email addresses as contacts in Lockmagic so
you don’t have to re-enter the email address every time you wish to encrypt or
send secure email. Select the contacts option and either import your google or
outlook contacts or manually enter each email and press enter. After you
finishing adding all the emails you want in our contacts press Update. This list
will show on all future authorization screens and in the To/Cc
lines when you are sending a secure email.
Q13) How do I import contacts into Lockmagic
from google contact (gmail) or outlook or Hotmail?
Open the
contact using the gmail option. Press on the gmail icon, click the checkbox on all the contacts you want
to save to Lockmagic and press Update.
Q14) How do I allow or block specific users for all of my secure content
(files and emails)?
When you
import or manually address a specific email address, you have the option to set
a specific access right, “Trust, Deny or Allow”. Trust access allows you to
grant access to the user for all files you’re the author. This is useful in
case you have multiple identities in Lockmagic and
you login at different time with different email addresses. By trusting all of
your email addresses you don’t have to worry which email you have encrypted
files with and which email you are accessing files with. A second scenario to
trust someone with all your content if you want to delegate someone else to
have access to your content such as a personal admin or office manager.
The Deny
access means the user can’t access any content you’re the author. This is
useful when you have a temporary relationship with a user such as a contract
and you want to prevent them from accessing any content you have previously
shared with them. All secure emails and files will not be accessible once your
mark a specific user with Deny access.
The Allow
access means the normal content authorization policy evaluation will be
performed against the user.
In the
following picture the user support@lockmagic.com
will be able to access any encrypted file authored by info@lockmagic.com because it’s listed in
the contacts as Trusted. The user Sara.John@costco.com
will not be able to access any encrypted file authored by info@lockmagic.com because it’s listed in
the contacts as Deny.
